Reading the world: four DBA2030 terms
Accounts, characters, districts and premises—what each term means.
DBA2030 is currently in maintenance. This guide explains project terminology; it is not an announcement that gameplay has reopened.
- Account:
- your sign-in identity. Email verification and login belong to the account layer. A successful login and a playable character are separate parts of the player journey.
- Character:
- the identity you play in the world. Our first-character naming work connects the name supplied during signup to that first character. Account access and character readiness should not be confused with the release status of a new location.
- District:
- a defined part of the game world. Atlanta and Watts are the locations discussed in our current development updates. Adding district data is one milestone; verifying the running game and opening access are later milestones.
- Premises:
- a location intended for a home, a business, or mixed use. The term describes the place; it does not mean that every premises feature is available in the current release.
When reading an update, check both the subject and its status: a character change, district-data milestone and playable release describe different things. Use the dated development update for current maintenance information.
